Challenge: Uniting separate RSVP workflows and needs with a global solution

The Christie's team faced a nuanced set of challenges that their guest management platform needed to solve:

  • Clients in China are accustomed to using WeChat for RSVP with QR confirmation within WeChat, not by email confirmation.
  • Christie's HK didn’t want to create two separate RVSP mechanisms and manage two separate guest lists from zkipster and WeChat.
  • Christie's HK wanted to save the registered WeChat guests and avoid having to ask/prompt them to fill in forms again for the next event.
  • Christie's HK needed a global solution, their question being: "How can we ensure a localized, bespoke experience with a unified global solution?"'

Solution: A bespoke API integration between zkipster and WeChat

Event setup
Christie’s creates a zkipster event for email RSVPs, and uses a custom mini-program for WeChat registrations.

Registration
When a new guest registers via Christie’s mini-program, all data is passed to the event guest list in zkipster via the zkipster API, and zkipster generates a QR code that is stored in the guest’s mini-program event page for easy access.

Check-in
At the event, Christie’s client service team uses the zkipster iOS or Android app to scan guest QR codes for quick and contactless check-in.

Post-event
A post-event report includes guests registered via mini-program, registered via zkipster, RSVPs (confirmed, declined, unconfirmed), attended, and no-shows.

The Christie's HK Events and Digital teams plan to integrate zkipster with their main client database. Once a guest registers for the event, their information will automatically be captured in zkipster and synced with the main Christie's client database.
