It’s happening. The days are starting to get shorter and the nights longer. That’s right summer is almost over and it’s kind of depressing.

But there’s still a lot to look forward to and as most event planners know the big event season is about to start! So here are some ways to stave off those end of summer blues and push through to fall!I think we can all admit it was a particularly long winter and it looks like we’re going to be in for another one, it seems like only yesterday you were putting away your winter clothes and now it feels like too soon you’re going to be bringing them right back out, but as Buddhist often say, “Struggle is inevitable, misery is optional.” It’s all about anticipating the hardship and mentally preparing yourself for what’s ahead. That’s why it’s important to do these things before you get down and out!Stay in the moment - Don’t stress about or think too far into the future. That’s how you can get overwhelmed. Enjoy each moment of sun left and take each day one at a time. Continue to make great memories in the summer time we have left!Throw a party - If you feel like you don’t have enough summer memories, go ahead and make your own! For many #eventprofs, August is a slow season, so why not put some of that extra time into planning some events for yourself and you friends? Doesn’t have to be anything big, just a good time you’ll remember through the winter months.Exercise Outside - If you’re feeling bummed about the impeding changes in weather, go out there and get those endorphins up! There’s no better or healthier cure for the blues than exercise and you might as well get it in now while the weather is perfect, not too hot and not too cold.End of Summer Cleaning - Get ready for the new season by cleaning out your closet and/or your home. You’ll feel like a new person after you re-organize. Oftentimes our environment reflects the state of our mind, so if you find your apt or closet to be cluttered maybe your brain is trying to tell you something. Even just rearranging your space can re-energize you and leave you feeling better than when you started! The summer is almost over, but there’s plenty still to do! Stay mindful and in the moment and you’re sure to sing a happier tune!Happy planning!
